At a planning meeting for a workshop on grief and despair (part 1: processing, part 2: taking action) it was said that grief and despair are part of the human condition (true) so what makes now different? Cue discussion. But I don't think it matters, we are new people. We are the difference.
I'm just tired of this knee jerk need to compare and contrast. If it's part of the human condition it's going to come up every generation!

I sobbed when he showed it to me because it proves how well we communicate. We can share hard stuff and when words fail music and stories fill the gaps. My son made a video about the trauma of losing one’s mother (in this case to suicide) for Mother’s Day. That’s how we work and who we are.
