Well, I'll tell ya. I've always carried my passport card in my wallet. Yesterday, I went out on my bike ride and realized I'd left my wallet at home, so I immediately turned around and went home to get it.
I don't want to be stopped by the secret police without having proof of citizenship.
So that's how it's going.
the HMRC also did (has done / is doing) large scale data harvesting but called it "recruitment"
this seems similar but it's from the people's favourite organisation, the NHS
(edit: also their message may amount to false representation of their intentions [i.e. "fraud"])
