I shared the news about Wilkerson departing the #ThornsFC with my wife and she commented about how “just adding women” to the existing power structures isn’t the solution people think it is.
Unless those women are committed to dismantling the structures that allow injustice to flourish, and unless they aren’t likely to benefit from upholding the status quo, then they are just as likely to continue the injustice.

Waking up to the news that Rhian Wilkinson has resigned from the Thorns FC is a doozy!

So much heartache this year and the next report is about to come out. I’m feeling pretty certain that Merritt Paulson is jumping out before the report drops with demands that he sell. His insistence that we focus on all he’s done for womens soccer feels like a tell because the next report is going to be dark af.

Seeing the news that abuse-enabler Merritt Paulson is selling the Thorns FC, but not selling the Timbers FC. He’s patting himself on the back for “doing the right thing” and insisting e focus on his accomplishments, not his egregious failures.
#OneClub was only a marketing ploy.
