"In Blue," Wassily Kandinsky, 1925.

Y'all know Kandinsky by now. Although often regarded as the first Abstract artist, he's now credited as the guy who popularized Abstract art.

This was one of his early Abstract works, when he was veering away from his time at the Bauhaus and the Constructivist school (now a half-forgotten movement, but with an arresting style). Here he's experimenting with geometric shapes in an abstract pattern, building his personal visual language.

There's shapes that might be a cow and a windmill, and maybe the sun, and possibly a mountain...and is that a scythe over them all? It's hard to say, but there's a jillion ways of looking at it, so draw your own conclusions.
