Anyone who grew up in the #90s and played those #Rare platforming classics such as #BanjoKazooie on the #N64 should take a look at the fantastic #YookaReplaylee by #PlaytonicGames. It's soooo much better than the game we got back in 2017. Really glad they turned this rough but passionate project into a real gem after all! There's also a demo out.

I completed Dragon Quest III last week, and I'm now replaying "Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair", one of my all-time favorite games!

The artwork is bright, colorful and cheery. The music is fantastic. And each level can be replayed with a "twist": the level is flooded, or frozen, or upside-down, or covered in sticky honey... It's very creative and fun.

The writing is also funny, with endless puns and jokes. This is the type of game where you can apply a powerup that puts googly eyes on all monsters, just for fun ๐Ÿ™‚

A downside of this game is the long loading time on my Switch Lite. Also, some levels have "one-way gates" in annoying places that can be frustrating. But overall, it's a really really fun platformer.

as someone who backed the #kickstarter and was extremely disappointed with #Yookalaylee, and I am floored at how much of an improvement #yookareplaylee is. Like night and day. They changed SO much, big and small. Even level layouts have changed. It straight up turns a bad game into a good one. I'm serious, this is one of the best platformers I've played now. Insane glow up. If you hated the original, give replaylee a chance because it really is so much better. #videogames #retrogaming
