Short video panning over the #landscape in #Sumapaz #NationalPark, #Colombia. This is around 3,700 m above sea level in one of the largest remaining areas of the #Páramo ecosystem. The swamp in the middle of the scanned area contained lesser #yellowlegs, Andean #teal and American #coot. The surrounding areas held Boyaca #antpitta, Apolinar's #wren, green-throated #helmetcrest, many-striped #canastero and Brazilian #GuineaPigs.

2024-08-20 - Lesser Yellow Legs - Or Yellow Shank, this was the first time I've spotted these, though it looks like they aren't all that uncommon around here. Spotted around Lake Conestogo Ontario Canada.

Thanks to a very rainy summer, some local MN cornfields have turned into mudflats which are now populated by a variety of wildly-out-of-place shorebirds.

Local killdeer are also getting in on the action.
