Test-spinning a cable yarn (which is plying two or more plied yarns together), a 2x2 formation for this one. Might go back to the drawing board for the colour distribution of a couple of the singles. Taking a progress photo and realizing belatedly... Having strong colour/aesthetic opinions really mean you keep accidentally matching. The bottom pattern is from my night caftan ie my lap. In happier news, the spindle that I thought was broken/lost (a Turkish spindle comes in mobile parts and the main rod of one of mine disappeared) is no longer so. Coincidentally I've just vacuumed under the bed. 😌

Plus, that had me sorting my newly plied yarn into my (what I thought) new bag of just-finisheds, except as you can see, that's a lot of finished yarn that needs to have their twist set!

My new (old) Bulgarian #spindles arrived! This is will be my first time in a while to do supported spinning on pure wood ones - usually I prefer those with a metal tip, for better wear. I got these off of Etsy - with where I'm located, sourcing this sort of thing is still best done there. I thought I was fully sorted on my spindle collection and then... of course I lost one. 2nd pic: my current in-progress. Spinning update: As 3-ply it really does remind me of tropical punch! Hmm thinking of plying it with my more white-gold/platinum blonde colourway to bring out the yellows... Let me have a think.
