#StackAttack

to use an i3-like persistent-workspaces-based window-manager with snap-it blocks of wigets and free-form design aspects, i need to:

  • enable wayland and ensure stability of the entire stack graphics stack
  • switch from 7yr old nvidia to modern amd graphics cards
  • upgrade motherboard and power supply to support 8-pin-power cables, already triggering a full PC rebuild
  • price out and min/max on a cheap stock PC with long tail of optimizations or mix&match components for expensive power build upfront
  • pre-plan monitor(s) compositions, as now i will have to accommodate multiple hdmi sources, incl potential netbook and even phone
  • setup three extra tables in a "U"-formation so i can haz place to hold all the electronics with fast easy access even from a basic office chair
  • rearrange existing cables and furniture to accommodate for new spacial environment
  • create digital top-down view model of the flat to try out different configurations in advance
  • move some of current furniture into temporary spaces
  • clear out both: the balcony and the corridor
  • top-off tires on the bicycle and re-oil chain and gears so it would not accidentally degrade from low use during cold months
  • fix my sleeping schedule, so i would not be doing all of the above at 3AM
