il ne faut surtout pas s'arrêter sur un échec 😉
le système est vraiment solide et la technique de l'utiliser en VM ou LXC permet d'évoluer sereinement

j'utilise un serveur #wireguard sur mon firewall #ipfire ( serveur auto-hebergé)
et il y a aussi une app #yunohost

sur les pc linux wireguard permet d'y coller un simple fichier de conf fabriqué par le serveur

et sur #lineageos l'appli RethinkDNS

donc pas trop complexe et pas vu de pb...

There are many reasons. For me, it's a hobby, but it might be different for you, of course. I have also become more resistant over time to letting big corporations be responsible for my data. How many times have you heard that <em>such and such</em> has been hacked? Of course, that can happen to anyone self-hosting as well, but at least <em>I will be responsible</em> for any loss.

I have been having trouble with #Ghost on #YunoHost, and it has been causing me headaches for weeks.

I cannot upgrade to any version after 6.22.1~ynh1, but I must, because there are critical vulnerabilities patches in following versions.

Can anyone please help or give me tips on how to troubleshoot this? Here is the GitHub issue I opened about it.

Currently running YunoHost 13.0.4 beta. The upgrade from Ghost 6.22.1~ynh1 to Ghost 6.27.0~ynh1 fails. Here is the log.

it's currently costing me about £32 a month on digital ocean for my #YunoHost server.

I keep having the fleeting thought of deleting it again because of cost but then I can save £10 by self-hosting my music and not streaming from a walled garden.

I guess you need to water the garden you want to grow. i.e. self-host over big tech.

@artlog @aeris @scaro quand on auto-héberge son serveur à domicile, au moins le serveur a aussi chaud que nous... 🫠

je n'ai que mes emails qui ne sont pas auto-hébergés, le reste (matrix, site web, mastodon, peertube, wireguard, nextcloud) est auto-hébergé chez moi (le serveur ne fait pas beaucoup de bruit, il est basé sur un vieux laptop sans écran).

Pour les sauvegardes borgbackup c'est dans une autre machine, et j'ai une troisième machine dans un autre lieu géographique mais dont je n'ai pas terminé la configuration alors pour le moment ça ne compte pas comme sauvegarde distante...

Déjà avec proxmox c'est assez facile de s'auto-héberger, mais si en plus on rajoute des conteneurs Debian avec Yunohost alors ça permet d'héberger beaucoup de services sans se prendre la tête avec l'admin-sys (et du coup on comprends moins ou pas du tout ce qu'il se passe).

https://pdalzotto.eu est en ligne, merci le vieux raspberry pi de 2014 offert par un collègue et #YunoHost pour me simplifier la gestion... Je suis pas sysadmin. Ce qui est "intéressant" aussi c'est l'usage de l'IA générative pour accélérer le process et "augmenter" la surface de ce que j'ai pu faire moi-même... Avec sans doutes des soucis, je ferai un article là dessus prochainement... #autohebergement

I’ve also moved the website from being hosted on my #Synology NAS to a Raspberry Pi running #Yunohost.

Yunohost itself is an absolute dream. It makes setting up subdomains an absolute doddle. The apps that can be installed on it vary in quality though.

Some are perfect. Others basically unusable. Most require a degree of technical knowledge that undermines yunohost's purpose of making self-hosting something anyone can do. If the solution to anything involves SSH voodoo then it is not user friendly.

#kiki runs like a dream on it.
