Emily C TaylorWalked over to the #YEGdtmarket for the last time today. 😢 I really hope it returns in the future, and that #YEGcc do a better job of supporting it. Having a vibrant farmers market on 104 St was a great feature of #YEGdt. With the LRT work they should consider temporarily moving it to 102&102 where it will be literally right at the new LRT stop and in nobody’s way. And maybe into the old city centre vacancies during winter.
CoproliteWell, with this being the last weekend of the #yegdtmarket before it shuts down in its current form, I went in to stock up on a few things. I'd stopped at the Four Whistles Farms booth and picked a substantial order, and right when I was about to pay one of their people starts up an anti bike lane rant with a couple of his customers.
So yeah, I guess I need a new source of duck.
So the current #yegdtmarket association is declaring bankruptcy and ceasing operations.
Move it back to 104 street seems to be a common refrain, and it could work there for six months per year (hopefully more than once a week so one doesn't need to open on Saturday. But that will shortly be running up against construction for the Valley Line West.
Back when the #yegdtmarket was on 104 street, I would get to it maybe once or twice per month during the six months per year when it would exist. Moving it to the old GWG building and running it Sundays as well as Saturdays meant that I was going pretty much every week year-round, and it became a core part of my grocery shopping.
Very sad to read that #YEGdtMarket is closing down, next weekend being their last. Very annoyed at #YEGcc forcing them prematurely from 104St location and not better supporting their move - a bad decision that I think ultimately doomed them. 😡 #YEGdt #YEGfood

Ontoros@Chris_MS Same here. I go the extra mile to the #YEGdtMarket. Lots of parking. More space to move around. Less crowding and jostling to get around the booths. Unfortunately, they are moving next year.
