Here's more #discussion on the topic of #YALiterature . I'm surprised by how many other #BookBloggers say #YA didn't yet exist when they were of that age. I knew I'm an outlier myself, having been born before 1950, but I expected that more bloggers of today would have grown up with YA literature.

I’m trying to create a list of good books that teenagers should be reading before they head off to college. There is a decline in literacy and readership amongst the younger people and we would do well to come up with some great books that are hella engaging for growing minds. I would love to put together a social media campaign across the web.

I just finished reading "Gwen and Art Are Not in Love," an incredibly queer YA romance by enby author Lex Croucher. If you like boys who kiss boys, girls who kiss girls, Arthurian themes, badass lady knights, and some predictable YA plot twists, you should go read it now.

I can't wait for Croucher's sapphic YA retelling of Robin Hood due out later this year.

Finished reading Skin of the Sea. It's a gorgeous book, rich with details. I loved all the mythology and folklore woven into it. THIS is the Little Mermaid that needs a live action movie.
