We went to a performance of Mahler 7 at Seattle Symphony tonight, Xian Zhang conducting. So much exquisite clarity, Jim said the performance was in the French orchestra style for a Mahler symphony, not Austrian nor German. The orchestra dedicated tonight’s performance to the memory of the late Speight Jenkins, impresario of Seattle Opera for over 30 years.
