The new experimental #Cloud preview of #PegaProx for #Proxmox & #XCPng based clusters...

Sharing a sneak peak of the new upcoming interface which takes place as another alternative frontend design to make it it more modern.

Live RIGHT NOW on The IT Guy Show: Live Ops 009.

We're walking through @xcpng and @xenorchestra , the open source virtualization stack from @vates. If you're still on VMware because you don't know what else to use, this one's for you.

Full install walkthrough, running it nested on Proxmox as a PoC.

My talk about #PegaProx for #Proxmox VE based clusters at the @[email protected] conference has been accepted!

I'm happy to share some more insights about the project, development stages, integration of the ProxTools collection (like #ProxLB, #ProxPatch, #ProxSnap,...) and more! We'll end up in a live demo of PegaProx, orchestrating several Proxmox clusters, XCP-ng based ones and maybe I'll have already finished another great thing until that date 🙂

Vates' read-only MCP server for XO is the right default — we said so in writing, not as a critique. We took the complementary cut: XO's full REST surface (read + write) as one declarative file behind a governed gateway. An agent can operate infra without admin creds, every call authorized + audited. It even ships get_mcp_status, reporting the built-in server. Complement, not competitor: https://www.toolmesh.io/en/blog/xen-orchestra-full-rest-api-in-one-dadl/ cc @olivier @xenorchestra #MCP #XCPng
Xen Orchestra 6.5's Full REST API — 245 Tools from One DADL

Xen Orchestra 6.4 stabilized its REST API and 6.5 added PATCH updates and VM controllers. Vates ships a first-party MCP server — 7 tools, read-only by design. We took a different cut: the entire 245-endpoint surface, read and write, as one DADL. Both belong in the same registry. Here is why.

XO 6.5 just shipped 🚀

Our biggest Kubernetes push yet: a fresh CSI release and a first demonstrator of our Cluster API provider ☸️

Full K8s lifecycle on your own infrastructure, no proprietary control plane required!

Plus bidirectional replication, XO 6-exclusive traffic rules on networks and VIFs, opt-in Redis encryption, and new Prometheus metrics.

Open-source, as always.

XO 6.5: QCOW2, bidirectional replication, traffic rules

XO 6.5 is out: QCOW2 GA, bidirectional replication, traffic rules on networks and VIFs, richer Prometheus metrics, plus a fresh Kubernetes CSI release and a Cluster API teaser.

Okay #homelab enthusiasts, I am looking at building a virtualization host. I’ve just tried out #ProxmoxVE and I just don’t like it that much. It feels clunky and bothers me to upgrade to a paid model constantly. I guess its tight integration with KVM made it appealing but I need to evaluate #xcpng. I don’t like the UI of Proxmox.
I really hate how #ProxmoxVE continually sends information popups about not being a subscriber. I think I might investigate #xcpng instead. The constant reminders are annoying. I don't have the money to subscribe but I would willingly donate.
