A French 🇫🇷 train on #Swiss🇨🇭rails: an #SNCF #X73500 railcar on a Besançon to La Chaux-de-Fonds service is nearing Le Locle station in the early 2000s. A handful or so of these “A TER” units has been equipped with the Swiss train protection system, allowing them to operate here.

A photo taken on the “Ligne des Alpes” 🇫🇷 in 2003 (or early 2004) from the rear cab of an #SNCF #X73500 “A TER” railcar: A class #X2720 #RGP #RGP1 DMU, displaying the blue “Rhône-Alpes” regional livery, is leaving for #Grenoble. These units were originally built in the 1950s for long-distance services.
