AGI - Stellantis e Dongfeng Group hanno annunciato la firma di un accordo di cooperazione strategica per espandere la loro partnership ultra trentennale attraverso la produzione congiunta di veicoli Peugeot e Jeep in Cina. L'intesa prevede un investimento complessivo superiore a 8 miliardi di yuan (circa 1 miliardo di euro), con l'obiettivo di trasformare la joint venture Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile (DPCA) in un hub produttivo non solo per il mercato locale, ma anche per l'esportazione globale.
L'operazione
A partire dal 2027, lo stabilimento DPCA di Wuhan produrrà inizialmente due nuovi veicoli a nuova energia (NEV) a marchio Peugeot, ispirati al design delle concept car svelate al recente Salone dell'Auto di Pechino 2026. Parallelamente, il piano prevede l'avvio della produzione di due fuoristrada NEV a marchio Jeep destinati ai mercati internazionali. Stellantis contribuirà all'operazione con circa 130 milioni di euro, beneficiando delle politiche industriali favorevoli della provincia di Hubei.
"Stellantis e Dongfeng sono pronte a valorizzare i rispettivi punti di forza e introdurre tecnologie all'avanguardia sull'elettrico", ha dichiarato Antonio Filosa, CEO di Stellantis. Il Presidente di Dongfeng Group, Qing Yang, ha sottolineato come l'integrazione tra la rete globale di Stellantis e le tecnologie intelligenti cinesi darà un "forte impulso alla trasformazione di DPCA". L'attuazione del progetto resta subordinata alle approvazioni normative e alla firma degli accordi operativi finali.

Stellantis and Dongfeng Group have announced the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement to expand their ultra-long-standing partnership through the joint production of Peugeot and Jeep vehicles in China. The agreement provides for a total investment exceeding 8 billion yuan (approximately 1 billion euros), with the goal of transforming the Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile (DPCA) joint venture into a production hub not only for the local market but also for global export.
The operation
Starting in 2027, the DPCA plant in Wuhan will initially produce two new energy vehicles (NEV) under the Peugeot brand, inspired by the design of the concept cars unveiled at the recent Beijing Auto Show 2026. In parallel, the plan includes the launch of the production of two international market NEV off-road vehicles under the Jeep brand. Stellantis will contribute to the operation with approximately 130 million euros, benefiting from the favorable industrial policies of the Hubei province.
“Stellantis and Dongfeng are ready to leverage their respective strengths and introduce state-of-the-art technologies in electric vehicles,” said Antonio Filosa, CEO of Stellantis. The Chairman of Dongfeng Group, Qing Yang, emphasized that the integration between Stellantis’ global network and Chinese intelligent technologies will give a “strong boost to the transformation of DPCA.” The implementation of the project remains subject to regulatory approvals and the signing of final operational agreements.
