I don't know what to say. I mean Trump? I just don't get it. Do the American people really want more years of climate denial and a huge boost for Russia and Israel? Not to mention years of nonsense. I don't understand the appeal of Trump but then in the UK I didn't understand why people voted for Starmer either. Nor Boris Johnson before that. I don't get why people in my own country voted for never ending London rule back in 2014. I feel on the wrong side.

I'm normally not a fan of saying something/someone is "on the wrong side of history" (predictions of the future are notoriously unreliable), but when it comes to slavery, I feel like the jury of history has been in for a while now.

This week the coalition government has said that the issue of modern slavery is not a priority for them. (From the mouth of a minister who notoriously said human life had been overvalued in NZ's Covid response.)
