Artificial Intelligence and our work

For NewsGuild-CWA, NABET-CWA, National Writers Union and Writers Guild of America, East members and staff. Register below. There are several major advances in artificial intelligence that impact our work. The rise of technology like ChatGPT and DALL-E are raising complicated issues that we need to address as a union, collectively. AI can be used to create videos, photos and articles that look like the real thing. It can be used as tools to speed up work, but there are risks as the technology continues to develop. There are ethical concerns for journalists and the likelihood that misinformation could spread more easily. There are also jurisdictional concerns as many employers have tried to include AI directly in their outsourcing language. So join us for a town hall to explore these issues and more related to AI and our work. This town hall will be at 7 p.m. ET Thursday, February 9 and will last for about an hour and a half.
