It's a vital reminder that human and animal health are connected! Let's raise awareness about diseases transmitted between animals and people, and promote responsible practices to prevent their spread. Protecting one protects all! #WorldZoonosesDay #OneHealth #DiseasePrevention

Campylobacteriosis and salmonellosis still below pre-pandemic levels; West Nile virus infections on the rise

Campylobacteriosis and salmonellosis were the most frequently reported zoonotic diseases in humans in the EU in 2022. However, the number of cases was still lower than during the pre-pandemic years 2018-2019.

Biological hazards

Zoonoses are infections or diseases that can be transmitted directly or indirectly between animals and humans.

European Food Safety Authority
Today is #WorldZoonosesDay. It's important to understand how zoonotic diseases can spread. If we have a pet at home (or free-roaming), it's necessary to vaccinate them. Otherwise pets that are not vaccinated can spread diseases to other pets, wildlife, and the people around them.

Unfortunately, they AV crew succeeded in their latest mass complaint attack.

It must have been a different administrator, because the “boss” had assured me they wouldn’t cave to them.

Will not follow up tonight, they deserve rest.

Anyway, to reiterate it’s #WorldZoonosesDay and #VaccinesWork and they are our best weapon against #AMR

With AMR directly contributing to 4.95 million deaths in 2019 alone.

Vaccines could have averted half a million of those deaths. AV have 🩸 on their hands.

🧪 On this day in 1885 Louis Pasteur administered the very first rabies vaccination 💉
