It seems like I just published the first book of seven in the Kovenlore series. Now, I’m turning the corner with Book-4 on June 4th.
I’ll share the cover when the book releases this coming Thursday.
Three books remain, of course, but they’re all written. In fact, the fifth book lacks only the final steps, which take a few weeks. It’s part of my rotation.

I love reviewing my book, seeing the chapter titles, how the paragraphs appear visually, and how the white space fills in.

Book-4 is uploaded and will release on June 4th. The delay was so I could announce it on my blog. I’ll talk more about it as the day nears.

I must do something very wrong when I compile books. Good gosh. In the aftermath, the back matter of Book-4 was kind of a mess.
For at least a full minute, I stared, wondering where my appendices went. For some reason, they were in the book’s final chapter.
Fortunately, I now have a lot of experience with Vellum. Pretty quick, I straightened it out and formatted.

Well, I’m getting closer…
I edited this week’s blog post, then reviewed my front/back matter, blurb, and book description for Book-4, then compiled it.
In truth, I should’ve gotten farther, but I like a relaxed approach to publishing to quiet my anxiety. Tomorrow I’ll address the formatting.
In all other aspects of writing I’m a workhorse, but not publishing, and that’s okay.

It’s time to compile Book-4 and format. I enjoy making a book presentable, but oh how I long to write stories.
Yet, I want to share.
There’s always that battle, I guess, when you don’t have a lot of resources like the big authors and stars.
Then again, I just saw Steven Colbert guest hosting a local public access talk show with virtually no budget. It was hilarious.

I’m fighting through a difficult time personally while moving closer to publishing Book-4 of the Kovenlore Chronicles. Yesterday was my most productive day in the last several.
Depression is a smooth talking liar. Remember that.
We all have enough problems right now in many aspects of our lives, we don’t need to wrestle with an inner critic that skews reality.

There are those who don’t suffer from (or deny having) mental health issues and lack empathy. That’s baffling.
For me, it began in childhood, my divorced parents too often the stuff of nightmares.
Anxiety and insecurity needed heroines, and so I often write them. I want to know it can be okay, that there are good, sympathetic people in the world, like we all should be.

I had a slightly disturbing revelation yesterday. One of the ways that my stories save me is via dialogue between characters.
I’m an INFJ personality, an introvert that craves meaningful, one-on-one conversation. Thing is, in looking back over years (yes, years), I can’t remember the last such conversation I had.
Instead, my characters have had them, filling the hollow withins.

Sometimes…
There are days that hold added weight and make it difficult to write, or do much of anything.
I guess they’re a part of life, the shadows that we also write.
Painful balance.
Going to the dark place is easy, it’s getting back that’s difficult. Sometimes it comes for me. Memories of abuse, hatred, and rejection. I’m a writer, I use them, but they still hurt.

I finished my final read-thru of Book-4 last night and my throat is raw, even though I try to not stress my voice too much.
Yes, in 4.5 days, I read the entire book aloud.
You do what you have to do. I survived, as I always do, and I’ll be okay. Now, all that remains is for me to update any front and back matter that requires it and move on to formatting. I’m close to the end.
