What should I do?
I work as a music teacher since 2009, and since last year my students are mostly kids, and I go to their houses to give them private lessons. I got a car, and most of them live in the upper neighborhood, more than 12 kilometers away from my house (7.5 miles). That's cool, sure: I charge also the cost of transportation and time associated.
However, last week Gasoline prices rose dramatically.. I know, I know: everywhere in the whole world. But here in Chile our far-right president and his government didn't do sh1t, and we all have no protection at all. Besides, they are allies of the truck drivers (one of the most powerful unions in the country, known far-right people), and they decided not to do sh1t neither. We are completely abandoned.
We all know music lessons aren't a priority in a world in economic crisis.. Should I rise the price of my service? I am afraid if I do so, I'll lose my students. Should I resist and earn less?
Freelancers over there: what do you think? Are you suffering from this situation too?
