Morton), an estimated 500 million people still lack access to safe anaesthesia; investing in trained personnel, monitoring equipment and essential medicines is critical to save lives and improve outcomes in health crises.

🩺 𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆: On this day in 1846, William Thomas Green Morton performed the first successful diethyl ether anaesthesia at Massachusetts General Hospital, forever changing surgical practices.
