I take an interest in what people think is "before the internet", as people seem to have widely differing notions, but this is a novel twist to me.
Nice article about Michael J Fox's new memoir, but 1985 was neither pre-internet nor *pre-word processor*. For example, WarGames in its initial scene setting was a reasonably accurate film portrayal of what you could do with a modem in 1983, and WordStar launched in 1978.
