Hey, #Missouri folks!

Missouri University Extension is hosting a yearlong virtual training for woodland owners (current or aspiring) and those who wish to aid woodland owners in stewardship of their property.

This looks like an awesome program. Plenty of urban interest, but if you are rural please share with those who might be interested.

Daily #Wales from a dog walk in the woods yesterday. The (necessary) logging is done with horses, which is better for the environment but temporarily rather muddy - photo is of the one dry spot, disappointingly so from a Labrador perspective.

Home from going down to the woods today to three fingers of whisky and two of green ginger wine. Cheers to that young lad from the Tree Nursery who happened upon us on his way home and told us what we were doing wrong!
Unsurprisingly much rope pulling off camera ensued (might have to borrow those photos from elsewhere or their may even be some video to link to). And hibernacula, which sounds Scottish for something or other, obviously.

Off to Wick Woodland today to help stand up some felled trees to create standing deadwood or something. And to build more logpile hibernacula, you all know what hibernacula are right? BRB.

Found some unripe nuts on the ground in the woods yesterday. I'm not sure yet what type of tree they're from. Hoping it's a hickory variety, as I'd like to encourage more hickory and oak. #WoodlandManagement
My own, personal, bluebells. Hope they are the proper ones. #bluebells #coppice #woodlandmanagement

I know this is a long shot, but....

Does anyone know of any articles or scientific papers that identify the ideal % amount of dead standing and dead fallen trees in a woodland?
