After finishing the first Grove Lancer, i decided I had to paint one of my Glade Scouts. This one was particularly interesting, because i wanted to actually make a bowstring, which involved super glue and sewing thread
After finishing the eagle riding Glade Leader, i decided to get my Glade Lancer finished
After the first Glade Defender, I decided to paint the rider of the owl, i had started at a friend's. As well as finish the details on it, now, for the flight feathers the color used was one I don't actually own, and i have considered painting it over, but i can't quite decide. The character is a caster, and as such i tried to give a "shaman look".
Anyhow, this is my owl mounted Glade Leader, and I am honestly quite happy with how she turned out!
As I got stuck with the first Grove lancer after running out of deer to color, i decided to paint a single Glade Defender, to establish the color scheme for my soldiers.
At first the cape was Purple Swarm, but that just didn't look right, so i experimented a bit with color mixes and came up with Lush Grape
After painting the second tree man brute, i decided I'd move on to some of the soldiers.
It took a bit of time for me to consider the best order, but then, in the morning, i spotted a small herd of deer gracing, and I decided to start on my Grovelancers
I stopped again soon though. The stag was easy, I used colours that were as close to natural (if a bit more vivid) as possible. But then realized that the rider was difficult.
Lastly all three treeman brutes together:
The next thing i painted, was when i finally got my own paints (i waited almost four weeks from putting in the order), was another tree man brute. This one I did a bit differently
I decided to use more nuances, and was pretty happy with the results.
