$70 million. That’s how much the MD of Greenview has spent to develop the area where Wonder Valley is proposed.

GIG executive director Kyle Reiling told an audience at the Calgary Petroleum Club last Wednesday that the project is still “moving forward,” and recounted the journey so far.

Over the last decade, multiple councils backed effort to prepare the Greenview site for industrial projects, most recently betting it all on a gargantuan gas-powered AI data centre proposed by Kevin O’Leary.

But it started as a petrochemical hub, until that dream faded.

Wonder Valley would greatly increase the health risks in this area where exposure to contaminants from nearby fracking is causing an alarming frequency of cancers already.

Imagine if a power plant running on fracked gas to fuel a 7.5 GW data centre was added to the mix.

Kevin O’Leary is at it again, saying Canada and the US should “unify their economies” and worse…

He’s also echoing the talking points of Alberta separatists saying that Trump would agree to no tariffs on Canada if there were no tariffs on the US.

This is a guy who wants to own a huge chunk of land in northwestern Alberta for a massive data centre factory that would most likely be used by big US tech companies and run on massive amounts of methane gas, consume a lot of water, and emit harmful pollutants into the surrounding air and environment.
