The statement says the decision to ban trans women "was based solely on technical and operational limitations."

"In a global online tournament, we do not have reliable tools to ensure transparency and verification for every participant. For this reason, we had to make decisions under uncertainty, relying instead on the trust we place in team leaders and their players," it says. "… This situation does not reflect a lack of willingness to be inclusive, but rather the absence of adequate mechanisms to manage verification in a fair, safe, and respectful manner for all participants."

So what they're saying here is that they can't verify that the people saying they're women are "actual women." because they don't think trans women are women. It's also based on this transphobic idea that "we can always tell." Because realistically, they have no way of verifying that the participants are cis or trans. You have no way to know. But they think they can because their thinking is that trans women are "men in dresses", so they have to find a way to sort out which are just "mentally ill freaks" (which I proudly am, but it's not because I'm trans) and which are "pretending", which is the transphobic myth of men men pretending to be women to win at sports again!

So yeah, the decision is purely transphobic. You can fuck off with your bullshit excuses!

Fuck the organizers, fuck this tournament, but a huge thank you to all of the women who stood by us for this. This sorority warms my heart.
