I paint about humanity: compassion, forgiveness, shadows and light. I am an ageing woman, and running through my work is a question about what a Western woman sees when she looks at herself. The external gaze is so easy to internalise, to begin defining oneself through it, to reshape and alter, to forget one's own inner knowing.

I paint about how decades of living layer themselves into a woman, how that is not a burden but wisdom. A line is not a flaw. It is a sign of a life lived. For me, ageing is not something to be ashamed of. It is a story that deserves to be seen.

Be well wherever you are, because Wisdom dwells in the Heart. 🥰✌️

Oh my, how I love my 3d pens. I bought one 3 years ago to use in embroidery. Tried it once and forgot about it. All of a sudden it has all clicked.
I love all of the different types of filament I can use. I really like TPU due to it's flexibility. Clear filament looks so much like glass, it's wonderful.

Finished these small heart art pieces up today. Scroll through for some progress shots. Tomorrow I'll add hangers and post them on Etsy. I've created all of the beads and bobbles by hand in various materials. The eyes are hot glue, and apoxie sculpt. You can see some of the "beads" drying on the table in the second pic. Perfect little weird Valentine's wall hangings. I have a lot fun seeing what all can be done with hot glue, and various materials. It's moldable plastic after all.

This piece is still in progress. I hand embroidered the eye of Peaches Christ and mounted it behind a magnifying glass. I created the flame shapes out of resin and apoxie sculpt. The flower is made from aluminum. I hand placed all the bugle beads one by one and added found objects and solder. I'm working on the back now. It will be wall mounted. Keeping sane by making art.

Taking some photos today of my new artwork. Each of these are mixed media. Hand embroidered drag queen eyes set in plexiglass / magnifying glasses and added to found objects. I have created pieces out of clay, apoxie sculpt, resin, solder, aluminum sheet and have added seed beads and various handmade (by me) beads. I love creating mixed media sculpture. I wanted them to have a very metallic look reminiscent of reliquaries, Monstrances and alters.
