That inspired me to create this reel because, honestly, this was exactly my face when I first studied the holiday route on Google Maps a few months after moving to Switzerland. 🇨🇭🫠 Back then, I had no idea that Google Maps uses a ship icon ⛴️ to indicate car transport routes - no matter what type they are - just because ferries are the most common way to transport vehicles 🚗 worldwide. But in Switzerland, the “ferry” is actually a car train 🚊 - and in winter, when mountain passes are closed, these trains are often the only way to get from one place to another. Car trains aren’t cheap - a single ride often costs over 30 CHF, with some reaching nearly 100 CHF 😳. Expect heavy traffic during holidays and weekends!
