Arctic front dropping temperatures to the teens (F) is just a couple of hours away. Rare weather for SE Texas. Hope the TX grid holds up, I’m sure Sen Cruz has his Cancun tix booked just in case. Here at the homestead our central heat is broken, repair person on the way, hopefully repaired before the big chill sets in. Meanwhile, Jasper is snugly ensconced in the warmest spot in the house next to the fireplace, oblivious to it all.

Now it's 21°F with a wind chill of 5°F.
In a week, we'll be near 70°F.
