All Reeves had to do was to say that she would be stopping winterfuel payments NEXT YEAR and then put in systems to reach all those poorest elderly who are not claiming pension credits.
That would have shown #Labour to be both caring and financially competent instead of casually putting lives at risk.
She obviously didn't know that many poorest elderly have not claimed pension credit nor did she understand the reasons why - internet, huge backlog on phone claims, many consider it would be a shameful handout etc
Address those problems and then cancel #winterfuelpayments for those who don't need them.
