Finished anime: Sorairo Utility
Another nice hobby anime that was a relaxing watch for winding down. I have never really been interested in golf but it brought across the joy and fun of it.
The characters weren’t too special but worked well for me.
If I had to highlight one highlight it would be the cross-generational connect with the older guys at the golf range. Also I just like the penguin mascot.
And, of course, the sometimes really Studio Trigger like eyecatch illustrations mid-episode 😄

Finished anime: Ameku MD
We put this off for a while which was good because it allowed us to watch whole cases / arcs without waiting time.
My initial impression was that this is a classical detective story except the cases just so happen to require medical knowledge, but there was much more variety in the kinds of cases Ameku investigated. I was also positively surprised by the episode that showed her troubled about her inability to read emotions and be accordingly considerate to patients (honestly that was kind of relatable to me).
I did notice that the art quality deteriorated during the season which was a pity.
I wouldn’t need another season but think I’d watch it.

Finished anime: From Bureaucrat to Villainess
This was mainly good because Kenzaburous attitude and way of seeing things is refreshingly different from what we usually see in anime. I really appreciate him being a dad but also a nerd, but not nerdy enough to know exactly where the game is leading him.
The other characters were okay considering that they are supposed to be stereotypical romance game characters. Unfortunately the bad puns of Richard were too hard to get across, at least for the person doing the German subtitles.

It was just a pity that the story couldn’t conclude in one season, at some point it seemed like it would be possible.

Finished anime: Trillion Game
Although it hadn’t quite pulled me in at the beginning it was hard to stop watching because there was challenge after challenge for the main characters. It felt like Dr. Stone in the modern world and only after finishing I learned that the two series actually share the same writer.
The fascination for this one comes from the fact that it looks like it could actually happen exactly like that.
Sometimes the combi of Haru and Gaku seemed a bit too extreme but in other moments they felt rather genuine. I also found many other characters that I grew to like.
The non-ending was just not great, I’d like to follow this story more.

Finished Anime: Maho Girls #PreCure II Mirai Days
This was tough to get through. Same as the first season, the relationship and interactions of Mirai and Liko are just fine and cute and although nobody said they’re a couple they definitely are.
And then there is the plot. The series had two parts, the first was exhausting because Ire was all secretive about what he wants to do and why (the answers were not interesting) and then we had Chronosto doing his thing but taking ages to do it. The themes of fearing the future or wanting to stay in the past were under-explored in favor of dozens of random flashbacks and in the end the whole fight seemed random.
Sadly not worth the long wait.

Finished anime: Guild receptionist
This one had some ups and downs. Alina and Jade were definitely fun to watch interact and I really liked how they were fleshed out with some lively details. The only thing I didn’t really get is why she acted so annoyed about him when he was mostly being nice.
But then there was Lululee, and I really don’t want to hate on her for being girly but her lack of confidence was just exhausting to watch and only the hope that it’ll get better made me keep going (it did get better, thankfully). Also most villains were throwaway thugs that were annoyingly flat.
Honestly not sure if I’d watch a second season.
But the ending was a banger.

Finished anime: Welcome to Japan, Miss Elf
I could really have done without this being a generic Isekai half of the time. Thankfully, Kazuhiro and Mariabelle are nice to watch even when they are just exploring dungeons, but I liked it much more when they were discovering Japan and japanese Food.
They are maybe not the best anime couple in the world but I liked to see them together and I liked that Wridra didn’t turn it into a harem and rather watched over them.
I think I’d watch a second season for some more exploring Japan.
