Saving this one from oblivion too.
Made it 4k too, got my downscaling settings nailed down. We don't all need 4MB jpegs.

Today was a trip to Kernersville Lake Park.
And once again... I trusted the damn autofocus too many times.
These shots were taken with autofocus entirely trust-free, ala... manual focus.
I swapped between my 50mm F.18 and my 24mm F2.8. Preferred the 50 most of the time here.

Overall? KLP doesn't offer too many differing views to take a photo of. It's a U-shape around a small piece of the lake. Barring a zoom lens, there isn't much else here to get, but with as many rental boats as there are, it would be good to return in the late-spring to see it full of action and people.

I went to Salem Lake and took a few shots. I need to quit min-maxxing my Camera lol.
So, my problem here... if it ain't obvious, is ISO.
I was bound and damned determined that I'd use an aperture above 10 so I could get good focus shots.
Like, I figured I had enough light for these. I didn't see a lot of noise on the sensor, but man does it show up on some of the photos I had to pass on, and it sucks because I had more ducks, just... grainy ducks. I will salvage some of those photos because I really do like them, but I'll post these four first.

You know, guys. There's a reason landscape photographers use tripods... and gradient filters, and take long exposures of things, despite the fact that they aren't moving to begin with,.... to avoid ISO grain. I KNEW THAT, I see them do it... but, here I am surprised I have to deal with the very thing they do that to avoid.

"Next time, tho?

Next time, will be perfect."

~literally every time

lmao

There is a parking lot right by two offramps that give, the *chef's kiss* best view of the city, owned by #WakeForest, blank most of the time, easy to get to.

Weather tomorrow at 7:00am is clear, my window is 30 minutes to an hour. Only issue is not much cloud cover, but, we might get lucky with some morning fog lightrays.

LFG.

So, I got off work a few hours ago, figured why go home and drove to a parking deck right by Winston Tower.

Still... the best place for a city shot I think, is going to be the MLK Jr. onramp, but the whole nowhere to park situation is just kinda asking for a cop to roll up behind me there, so I'll have to park somewhere else and get my shot quickly in that case. The Stadium looks like a good place to get a good photo, but then there's getting access to it, or getting tickets to something just to get a shot, and planning the time, weather, oh boy.

Anyway, nice shots this morning, we got our sunrise right around 7:00am.

I had one of those...
'The picture looks great on the viewfinder, but meh in the editor'
kinda days.

I still like my keeps, but I took way more than these, that kinda fell flat, and I knew at the time why they would.

"Oh boy, another f-ing fence"

Seriously, I had a really like... ektachrome-looking shot of these two airplanes and get kept getting blocked by fences.
Shot of the city? Damn fence I have to zoom or get past.
Oh, a highway? Darn, now I have to use high shutter speeds.
It was also one of those, "the sun just bleaches everything" kind-of 11:00ams.

Lessons for the future.
I bet the Airport does tours, which would nix the fence and get me closer, and get me more variety.
There is a golden spot, on an on-ramp right around MLK down 52 South where I could hit the whole skyline with a wide-angle.
The sun faces the mirror-building(BB&T Financial Center) during the morning so I'll have to get down there early, and get a partly-cloudy day for some colors.
There's this local meme of taking a photo of it during sunrises and sunsets so you can catch the sky way bluer than the reflection on the building, and I'm not attempting originality yet, or rather, I'm still beneath it.
I will return soon,
but not for art

for revenge.
