Loud bang from upstairs. Went up to find the shower curtain and its pole now sitting in the bath, the internal locking device that holds the pole's spring in compression having failed. FFS don't they make anything to last? It's only about 30 years old 😃
(On the positive side, repaired for £0.00 by cutting and inserting a suitable length of plastic water pipe I happened to have lying around.)
