When you want something, there's a choice that has to be made.
The choice is simple: Do I want it enough to fight for it even though I may lose?
Am I willing to take the L, risk the loss, for the opportunity to try?
I used to say no almost all the time. It was a reflection of my feeling of not having control. If I couldn't control the outcome or I didn't know for sure it would be successful I didn't want to get started. It caused me to not start a lot of things and only partially completely many others.
My ability to follow through was affected directly by my willingness to heal that wound. My ability to continuously offer the same things came from recognizing this and releasing it.
I learned that the outcome was not my burden to take on. I had to put my sense of control back where it belonged, inside of me, and only take responsibility for the choice to complete my portion of the work. The rest is not my work. It's not up to me. I have to let that part go.
When you're making choices that are causing you to be afraid or question them, one of the things that you need to look at is your willingness to try it anyway, regardless of the outcome.
How bad do you want it?
Are you willing to try it anyway?
The thing that stops you is your fear of taking the L. Can you see the benefit in the journey win, lose, or draw? Are you willing to shift your perspective to see the benefit so that you don't have to get stuck in the choice?
Love to all.
