Although I prefer #Linux for many things, I do bump into a problem that makes it feel like MS DOS ca. 1987 sometimes.

Reboot, & my USB (both tty & audio) devices may re-shuffle.

Everything was working. #DireWolf #RigBlaster #WSJTX #WinKeyer #FTdx3000

Without changing any USB cables in any way, reboot, & Direwolf cannot start because the TTY port isn't there anymore.

Now starting documenting a new habit. Unplug all USB but one if I'm going to reboot, then plug in specific order. This is dumb.

Another weekend, a bit more progress on #flrigWebRemote #python #javascript web app. The morse paddle interface was too glitchy. Good timing is too important for morse code to be not horribly annoying. This is what the #WinKeyer was designed for. So I re-arranged, removed paddle interface, & use WinKeyer macros for #POTA hunting. Just made 3 QSOs with no glitches, no repeats. Flawless.

Well. THAT was a longer haul than I might've expected. Finally got my 1st #POTA #CW #WinKeyer QSO.

I came in late yesterday to unbox the K1EL WKmini, & by the time I got Linux brltty to stop grabbing the USB device (& disconnecting it), the dark had come & the band faded.

Morning is better - band improves over time.

Also now able to use #AuGratin since with WinKeyer I don't need my special #POTAto mods anymore. The AuGratin app is NICE.

That feeling when you're trying to try your new #WinKeyer for the 1st time on air, e.g. hunting #POTA, and in your excitement you confuse DNF with DNR on a noisy band.

And all the CW tones become clicks... like Predator.

And it takes you a while to realize what silliness you've done.
