My ideal laptop is one with trackpoint and two buttons. No need for a touchpad.

Around 2002 I used an old laptop similar with the one on the picture. Even at the time, this laptop was already considered old and too bulky.

If I am not mistaken, I used Windows 98, Java J2SE and Editplus. I learned to program on Java on the machine.

I brough the laptop to various libraries where I can read SUN's books.

And we build a #Win98 box to show off #Quake as a demo.

The #palm serial2usb works great in #win98. For my mobile palmpix camera setup, I just needed a short sync cable. Well scissor and soldering...

Finally done: sharing files between #win98 (in #qemu) and #opensuse via image-file.
Now I am done creating a way to easily sync images from the #palmpix camera and #palm #pda like IIIx and m105...

#linux truely rocks!

My mobile photo shooting setup# #palm m105, palmpix camera, mobile sync palm cable and palm connect USB to serial

With #win98 now on my laptop as virtual machine....mm perfect

No post yesterday 😅 But I tidied up the place a bit. Pinned some icons and added the 'Network neighborhood' to feature blogs I follow.

The funny thing is that back in the XP days I didn't have any icons on the desktop to keep it clean and memory-efficient. It's a bit strang to see the long list of post icons wiggling there like some long Nokia-snake's tail.

Shot on a #Sony #Mavica #FD7. For those of you who feel VGA quality was quite good enough 😀

I love that there was a brief period where it was feasible to store multiple (over 20!) photos on a single 1.44Mb disk, and that by having a camera directly save to them it actually made it super easy to get photos off of your camera.

No dongles, docks, or custom cables. Just plonk the disk into your computer, done!

I have a small test recording I made when I was trying out to see how well the VGA duplicator works with a cheap VGA to HDMI cable I have. I must admit that it works surprisingly well, all things considered.

I don't think I'll be winning any "influencer" awards, but I, somehow, will try to find a way to survive that great loss.

Curious what it looks like? Have a gander:
