Is there a source for cleaned up image for #Win11 in #proxmox ?

Will provide my own license key, but the procedure to set it up in Proxmox doesn't look like fun to me. Furthermore you need to spend hours with Win11 to remove all the crap that comes with it.

I still have 2 Windows Apps I cannot get completely rid of, but want to throw out the PCs that run it. My Proxmox has power to spare and the Windows will only run very rarely....

So this is embarrasing. After avoiding Windoze for the last three years, I've installed #Win11 Pro (because I have to present a workshop to non technical peeps) and it's not terrible.

As good as I remember Windows 2000 and MS-DOS 3.12

Wondering if I can be bothered to install #Linux 😢

On #Win11 mostly for compatibility with just a few work related programs that are used heavily. The biggest being #Word. Though #LibreOffice is getting better about keeping reviewing notes and such.

I can confirm it's there. Not in privacy settings. Deeply buried in typing settings.

Though I feel like I'm painted into a corner. I like the ability to get the right drivers with #Ubuntu. They're also getting on the #AI train. If I switch, how long until it's in the same shape? I dunno.

I fucking loathe my windows work machine.

Time to set a new password. So I follow the instructions. Ctrl+Alt+Del, change password, all good. A small notification pops up

"Windows needs your password. Please lock the system and unlock it"

So I lock the system and put in my password again...

And I get a message telling me that this account is disabled for some reason..... Amazing...

Ich sage nicht, dass alle #Linux Distributionen perfekt sind. Aber wenn man schon durch Inkonsistenzen genervt wird, dann doch bitte auf die Art, dass man am Ende nicht ständig ein Opfer ist: Übersetzungen, #Datenschutz, #Sicherheit, #Werbung, #Recall, #enshittification ...

#Win11 tu' ich mir sicher nicht mehr freiwillig an.
