Hey, Blind Pharisee…
I speak of course of Pastor Wilson, of Moscow Idaho fame, who writes a blog post entitled, “Slicker Than a Pocket Full of Pudding” in which he suddenly seems to notice that there’s some problems on the righter side of the aisle, specifically Candace Owens, Tucker Carlson, and Nick Fuentes. He then proceeds to lecture or sermonize people for their “spiritual blindness” and says, “It is not possible for a generation to be chumps of this magnitude without it being overwhelmingly a moral failing.”
He goes on to say, “The fact that so many on the conservative right have been so readily taken in by shysters, grifters, miscreants, gypsies, tramps and thieves simply means that they are unregenerate and utterly lost.”
Sigh. I suppose I need to lower my expectations. Better late than never, right? The thing is, where has he been for the past decade? What ideals has Wilson been promoting himself? Why do I call Wilson the blind pharisee? Because when people have tried to bring legit concerns to him, he doesn’t “see” a problem.
Going way back to the Red Pills, Dalrock and others, it was like, Pastor Wilson, there are all these so called “Christian” men outright advocating abusing women and they are quoting some of your own words as if that somehow justifies it and makes it okay! Wilson didn’t really see a problem. He blamed feminism. Feminism is the problem.
Pastor Wilson, there’s some genuine racism and Jew hatred brewing over here and people seem to think that when you wrote that “the Bible does not explicitly condemn slavery as an inherent sin,” you meant that God approves of perceiving entire groups of people as not quite human and therefore fair game for their hatred. Wilson didn’t see a problem. People were just misunderstanding what he said.
It’s likely people do misunderstand what he says, the thing is when other faithful Christians tell you Look, there’s smoke pouring out of the kitchen, could there be a fire starting, and you just ignore, dismiss, or mock them, all while slapping others on the back and winking, it tends to send a message.
I wish to say this as gently as possible, but when a good chunk of a Pastor’s followers seem to be “chumps of this magnitude” and suffering from what is “overwhelmingly a moral failing,” and “readily taken in by shysters, grifters, miscreants, gypsies, tramps and thieves” perhaps that might have something to do with where they are getting their spiritual leadership?
For my entire life the Left side of the aisle has been able to gain followers and supporters by selling two primary narratives, the right are a bunch of racists and they abuse women. Sadly, it often takes about two seconds of whacking that pinata for some genuine candy to fall out.
Stop stuffing the pinata with so much candy.
