57 Fun and delightful, for the most part. Playing with gender stereotypes, this could be seen as a German screwball comedy, and it delivers with its witty dialogue and funny scenarios. Willy Fritsch and Lilian Harvey have wonderful chemistry together. At times I was contemplating whether this movie is ultra-feminist or ultra-reactionary (It seems to swap back and forth all the time). Many reactionary opinions are being expressed by various characters, but the movie seldom makes an effort to endorse those viewpoints, in fact, sometimes it does the opposite.
