#WilliamLaneCraig freaks out about deconstruction, but to no one's surprise, he doesn't seem to understand what #faith deconstruction is in the first place. He thinks we're all just reacting emotionally to bad experiences we had in the conservative #church.

The argument from #morality is the apologist argument that #God is the source of all morality, and therefore, if objective morality exists, God must exist. It's also taken as an opportunity to claim one's own religion is the only true one, and better than all the others.

A particular form of it is Thomas Aquinas' argument that the moral part of the Mosaic Law could be deduced from natural law. A further extension is that all morality comes from scripture, which in turn is the word of God.

It is one of the seven arguments that William Lane Craig has built his originality-free public speaking career on — he has rehearsed it to death and uses it in almost literally every single public appearance.

Taking the implications of the argument from morality seriously notoriously causes a bluescreen in terms of both ethics and logic. Oops.

Episode 95 Ridiculous Reasons to Believe In this short episode Matthew will be picking apart a video from Reasons to Believe that William Lane Craig posted on his twitter timeline in March 2023. The sequence is titled, Did Jesus rise from the dead? Part 1, the facts. See link 1 for the full 6.5 minute video and the additional follow on videos. There is a very simple objection to any claim about Jesus rising from the dead, and that is, all claims start from the assumption that the gospel accounts are truthfully reporting events that actually happened. We don't know this, and we can't know this, which is why starting from this position and then using this unsupportable starting point to argue for the literal resurrection of Jesus is unreasonable. 1) https://www.reasonablefaith.org/did-jesus-rise-from-the-dead 2) https://www.history.com/news/resurrection-stories-ancient-cultures 3) https://listverse.com/2013/03/30/10-resurrected-religious-figures/ 4) https://www.britannica.com/topic/textual-criticism 5) https://overviewbible.com/how-did-the-apostles-die/ To contact us, email: [email protected] Our Theme Music was written for us by Holly, to support her and to purchase her music use the links below: https://hollykirstensongs.com/ https://hollykirsten.bandcamp.com/ --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/still-unbelievable/message

William Lane Craig is an American #Christian apologist, philosopher, and theologian. Craig claims that religious faith must be spread through appeals to #reason & #logic or else #atheism will triumph. However, this is more about crafting a more effective "sales pitch", than any real commitment to reason since Craig is essentially willing to abandon reason if it provides the "wrong" answers (i.e. those incompatible with Craig's religious dogma).

Craig has authored numerous books on subjects including cosmology, philosophy of science, theology, the Christian church, Christian apologetics, #metaphysics and #epistemology, and history. However, all of Craig's work has a tendency to be fodder for his apologetics; for instance, his work on philosophy of time seems to consist of little more than trying to promote A-theory of time because that's required to get his cosmological argument to work.
