I always like giving Gibson credit for predicting LLMs in Neuromancer. The way Case interacts with the Dixie Flatline construct correctly outlines the shape of the technology, that it's a fancy personality simulator loaded with memories. Also it's correctly described as a ROM, which transformer weights essentially are.

By the time Case uses it in the first book the technology sounded relatively commonplace. One has to wonder how people in-universe would have reacted when the tech was new.

What's the #audio equivalent of "The Footage"?
#SciFi #WilliamGibson wrote of a mysterious source of (dark, moody) video footage, unexplained short segments appearing on the Web.
His hero is a coolhunter commissioned to track it down.

Thanks for the pointer, having recently replaced very old not very good #HiFi kit with new rather better kit (nothing special to excite audiophiles, but I'm enjoying it) I am open to things to listen to.

Jeg blev færdig med “#MonaLisaOverdrive”. Det var langt den nemmeste af de tre bøger, da #williamgibson s sprog er blevet nemmere at læse, for det meste. Jeg kunne godt lide den, men elskede den ikke. Slutningen er dog meget fed, og jeg kunne ikke lade være med at tænke på, at Wachowskierne har stjålet meget til #TheMatrixRevolutions!
Jeg tror, jeg vil læse Johnny Mnemonic som den næste. #scifi @scifisnak.dk @4nd3rs @jenspoder
