Every time I read about this guy I think, “Hey look, it’s a guy who read a @GreatDismal novel and wanted to be like the villains.”

Started the binge watch of #ThePeripheral last night; three episodes down, five to go. I've read the book so was looking forward to this, and I like what I see so far even if the London-based storyline seems to have taken a lot of liberties with the #WiliamGibson plot (to say the least). But, it looks fabulous, has decent pacing, is really fleshing out the characters, and it's #SciFi so I'm always going to be happy about that anyway.
But that eye scene in episode one... urgh.
Looks like we're doing #7Books that made us who we are. I don't know if they *made* me, but:
The Illuminatus Trilogy, #RobertAntonWilson & #RobertShea
Cannery Row, #JohnSteinbeck
Dharma Bums, #JackKerouac
Pattern Recognition, #WiliamGibson
Pentimento, #LillianHellman
The Big Sleep, #RaymondChandler
A Prayer for Owen Meany, #JohnIrving
