And #CompanionAnimals aren’t safe, either. Between 2000 and 2021, #traps and baited #CyanideBombs set out by #WildlifeServices have even killed more than 1,100 #dogs including family #pets.

In total, Wildlife Services has killed over 58 million #WildAnimals since 2004.

(all tax-payer funded) goes directly to these activities to protect the interests of #BigAg.

In 2024, #WildlifeServices killed nearly 2 million animals alone—an increase of over 474,000 #animals from 2023—including nearly 58,000 #coyotes. The government agency has killed hundreds of endangered #GrayWolves, threatened #GrizzlyBears, #beavers, #foxes, #bobcats, #MountainLiona, #RiverOtters, #porcupines, migratory #shorebirds, and many other #species.

#WildlifeServices an agency within the US Department of Agriculture (#USDA), kills over a million wild #animals each year, largely for the farmed #AnimalIndustry, by horrendous means such as #poisoning, #CyanideBombs, neck #snares and even being shot from an airplane.

In fact, a whopping 36.5% of the agency’s activities were done to “protect #agriculture including #livestock, row #crops, #aquaculture, and #timber “, and a large portion of their $286 million budget

"Taxpayer-funded wildlife slaughter lets livestock operators and the agriculture industry ignore problems that lead to conflict instead of fixing them. #WildlifeServices should focus on implementing commonsense #coexistence measures like cleaning up livestock carcasses that attract wolves and bears.”

375,000 NATIVE ANIMALS KILLED by One Program in 2023

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's notorious #WildlifeServices program just put out its required tally of #killings for last year: 375,045 native animals. The federal extermination program targets a long list of wild creatures, chiefly at the behest of #agricultural interests in states like #Texas, #Colorado and #Idaho.

According to the report — which almost surely understates the actual numbers —

Targeting Wildlife Services

A program known as “Wildlife Services,” a unit of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, has long operated secretively for a reason: Its actions are incredibly brutal and inhumane to animals, from familiar wildlife to endangered species — and even people's pets.

the Mansfield family achieved a first--they prevailed in holding the government accountable for one of countless incidents in which indiscriminate, poisonous land mines, planted in our great outdoors for "predator control," have killed wild animals, dogs, and potentially a child. #WildlifeServices admitted it was negligent. This sets a very important precedent indeed.
