A few years ago I scattered a #wildflower seed mix in this corner of my garden to sit afore the rose, japonicus and the climbers.

Each year I get a different array of blooms. Last year was poppies, this year it's oxeye daisies - everywhere.

It's fab and I am so glad I did it. I now have a flower patch that is thriving.

Alpine azalea (Kalmia procumbens) in arctic Norway. Not sure if it is obvious in the image but the individual flowers are very tiny, probably only 3-4mm in size.

Pyramidal Orchid (Anacamptis pyramidalis), flowering at Odd Down, Bath. Probably the most common orchid species in the Bath area, it often grows on bare ground and road verges, as well as grasslands.

Bee Orchid (Ophrys apifera) at Odd Down, Bath. These orchids can take several years to develop, and may only flower once in their lifetime. I sometimes find them in abundance, only for them to be completely absent the following year. The British population is largely self-pollinated, as the bee species that they specifically require for pollination is absent from Great Britain.
