Joanna HolmanI’ve missed seeing my Tawny Frogmouth buddies now that they are in less predictable locations outside nesting season and its dark as soon as I finish work so I have less time to look. Was lovely to find one group today. Looks like one of the kids from last summer’s clutch decided they’re not ready for independence and followed the parents to their winter tree!

Ewen Bell 📸One more from the Gang of Gang Gang I saw yesterday. Been working inside today so haven't had a chance to chase more birdies yet. Maybe this arvo. It's such a treat for me to indulge in wildlife and a telephoto. Not my usual thing.

Today was a first for me. I had a chance to photograph a gang of Gang Gangs as they munched on seed pods in the trees above. They were chilled out, unfussed by passing cars, swooping currawongs, or my lens.
These are some of the most adorable parrots in Australia. They are very quiet compared to most species and you would hardly know they were even there. And what amazing detail in the feathers, from the red head to the ripples and flourishes in the chest.
