For folks working in #archives, #OpenContent, #editing, #libraries or #OpenData, you won't want to miss #WikiconAustralia, brought to you by @wm_au and hosted at the #NFSA.

Includes tutorials on #OpenRefine, and workshops on handling #Indigenous material in culturally appropriate ways (such as the CARE principles).

Or maybe it's not, because I forgot to say #WikiConAustralia.
WikiCon Australia 2024 provided an excellent opportunity for learning & growth. The event touched on various topics, from cultural sensitivities to managing conflicts of interest. We reconnected with old friends & made new ones too! #WikiConAustralia

Wikimedia Australia

I think I've got the Port Adelaide wiki working again. it's not back online yet, but I've restored from backups locally and have started the upgrade process (up to 1.35 so far, but that was the annoying bit, with weird PHP 7.4 incompatibilities before that).

Terrifically interesting #WikiConAustralia tour this afternoon of the South Australian museum and their various rooms of fossils, bugs, animals (in both wet and dry storage). Two and a half full time positions to look after two and a half million specimens! Lots of Wikimedians being very keen. 😃
#WikiConAustralia Day 0, and I've woken to a view out over the roof of Gay's Arcade. There's a decided lack of SA heritage buildings (or at least coordinates for them) on #Wikidata.
It's nearly 7AM on Day -1 of #WikiConAustralia (yeah, I might be getting ahead of things, but I'm heading to the airport soon, so am excited).
