Is there a way to turn off the minutely spoken status updates in the WiGLE app while audio is turned on? I only want to hear the other sounds for each scan, which tell me all I need to know. I can't find a setting for this.

I was waiting for the βpassing on your left!β call, and there it is!
Kudos to #50 #truemarmalade - kicking ass in the big board once again!
@CerstinMahlow I've been using #wigle on mobile for several years now. It just seems that #NearbyGlasses is just a highly focused (BT/BLE MACs) version of that.
My nagging thought is "What's stopping those Meta Ray-bans from hoovering up the nearby Wifi/BT/BLE MACs as well?".
THAT is the real surveillance here and I don't put it past Meta to do this.
Got fed up with #wigle's web interface and started loading my #wardriving records into #qgis instead.
Overly complicated and massively overkill?
Yes... but it is working.
Move my next contributions from wigle.net to neostumbler beacondb.net
Today I walked 6.13 miles, made exactly 500 OpenStreetMap edits, & recorded 9,034 new (to me) Wi-Fi networks in WiGLE.
Chasing Your Tail, a cool, open source tool to help track your trackers.
Ironic that it uses a Raspberry Pi given that the corporation has moved to work closely with law enforcement, but then the creator was a Fed for 22 years π€·πΏββοΈ
