Both from Spring Mill Distillery, but different in the glass. Cooper’s brings spice, oak, and structure. The blend is softer with sweeter vanilla.

Two Campbeltown heavy hitters, side by side.
Springbank 15 goes dark, rich, and savoury.
Kilkerran 16 starts bright and sweet, then turns spicy and peppery.
Same region — completely different experience.

Revisiting Dingle Batch 006, Irish Single Malt Whiskey.
Port cask, 46.5%—and not quite how I remembered it. Fruit and jam on the nose, but the palate leans dusty and savoury now… cocoa, crackers, and drier overall.

Bushmills 12 vs 16 to wrap Irish Whiskey Month.
Both 40%. Both full of flavour.
12 = bright fruit
16 = darker, richer, a bit of leather
Also… a quick rant on whisky snobbery.

Spring break. Snow. Shoveling.
So I grabbed Pete’s Beast PX Batch Strength (54.1%). Big sherry, big peat… but at $95 CAD, is it worth it?

Jameson Original vs Stout vs Black Barrel.
Same 40%, not the same pour:
Original = classic
Stout = creamy coffee & chocolate
Black Barrel = spice & oak punch
Great way to learn Irish whiskey.
Two mystery samples from Andrew in the UK. Completely blind again — my wife labels them, so I don’t know what’s in the glass until the reveal.
This time they turn out to be Japanese whiskies bottled at 43%, and I’ve never tried either before.
Which one would you choose?
