There's a weird backstory of once upon a time, I was a yarntrepreneur, a yarn maker if you will.

Stephen happened upon my yarn in a paris wool shop, bought it, and made it into a pattern.
I was so, SO THRILLED.

Later, I had to face the music of what was happening with my relationship to the farmer and the industry, and shut it down.

I felt so, so, horrible for what happened to Stephen, but he then went on to put his own yarn line out, so all good!

2020: purchased the yarn via the free internet kindly offered by the 4 star hotel I was quarantined in, in Sydney, where I was one of the first. I didn't find any Noro in Japan, so made up for it by ordering by the bag from Seattle Knits in Seattle, who had a lovely convo with me over the phone. Super fun knit 🧶

🧶🧶🧶 Slowing things down a lot on this #WestKnitsMysteryMusiKAL shawl, designed by #StephenWest of #WestKnits.

Clue #2 - nine curvy bands of color - each held to the next with narrow eyelet strip in pink mohair.

Teaching myself to enjoy the process. Turns out there is no race against time, just an old habit to rush, that I'm working on eradicating.

🧶🍾🥂🧶 Clue #2 = soooo much easier!

Yes there is stitch counting for short rows. Using stitch markers helped a lot with both those things. Looks more orange here than in real life.

I go back and forth between liking this #MKALand finding it all too busy. I proceed, having faith in #StephenWest and #WestKnits. Onward!

🧶🧶🧶 Jesus, Mary and Joseph, people! FINALLY finished Clue #1 of #MKAL- the MusiKAL shawl from #StephenWest of #WestKnits. It was a beast.

All those ends to sew in. Juggling 3 needles for all those welts. The constant color changes. Aiaiaiai.

Clue #2, with its glorious long bands of garter stitch, here I come!

@I_am_a_plant Thanks so much! I never seem to finish these MKALs on time, have quit more than one in early stages. Stephen West's shawls are so great, they are worth knitting, MKAL or not, on schedule with clue release dates or not. His video support and additional material (like performances of Stephen singing) is terrific. I found clue #1 to be soooo hard, could not conquor the brioche, so did the garter stitch option, which I think looks fine. Always a satisfying adventure with #WestKnits!
