Saudi Arabia is a western asset since it was created by Great Britain and has always been. Pretending that the US is no place for this person is to pretend that the US represents something greater. That has never been true. It cannot be in the face of the ongoing relationship with Saudi Arabia, and is even less true as we witness US, and Western, policy in Palestine.

This sort of question is performative at best.

This is not a defence of Saudi Arabia or the UAE. Fuck them both.

However, it is high time people in this country start questioning the fact that these are close allies. We supply them with diplomatic cover and we sell arms to them. We help them suppress democracy in their country.

It is laughable to talk about our superior Canadian values in the face of this hypocrisy.

Let me not get started on our support for genocide…
